'Nibbles' pt.1
Snacks from Copenhagen
I (with my bestie Caroline) am currently developing the first issue of a food magazine, Food Baby Mag, which has meant less time for long form Substack posts. I have missed sharing what I have been cooking, eating, drinking etc. though and as such want to share more bite-size notes on my happenings — intro ‘nibbles’. enjoy xx
Below are some moments from my recent time in Copenhagen and recs if you ever find yourself there.
a 11pm dinner at Pompette - a tiny wine bar across the street from our Airbnb - consisting of a hefty plate of freshly shaved coppa ham, ricotta with lemon, evoo, and anchovies, olives, and a manchego-esc cheese.
biking down the little alleyway our Airbnb was on in Nørrebro.
breakfast at Lille Bakery, following a two-hour cozy morning sauna at La Banchina. Local greek yogurt with cardamom granola and roasted seasonal fruit. Enjoyed while reading a copy of The Preserve Journal. Not pictured was a pillowy-soft berliner.
a woman biking with a full sized doodle while still looking put together is Copenhagen in a nutshell.
ducked into Café Sandø during an intermittent rain shower. I got a smørrebrød with chicken salad and kale. it was OK but I loved the art inside the cafe.
lounging by the water with a beer and good book (highly recommend The God of the Woods). photo from my dear travel companion, my mother.
a beautifully plated beef tartar from Barr with salted gooseberry and fresh courgette slices. the brininess of the gooseberries with the savory meat was perfect.
my favorite piece of art from the Louisiana Art Museum - a deeply intense charcoal drawing of a wave from Robert Longo.
loved the font of this sign on the outside of a cheese shop in Østerbro.
easily the most delicious croissant and cardamom bun I have ever had at Juno the Bakery. I will let this photo speak for itself. This was breakfast #2, following an incredible classic sesame bun, butter, and cheese from Andersen & Maillard.

Madamoiselle
Jeez- this looks amazing. I’m jelly- next time I’m tagging along with you two. I was stuck eating a “full breakfast” of sausage, eggs, blood pudding, beans and toast for breakfast and haggis, and fish and chips for dinner in Scotland! BTW- there’s an article on Longo in The NY Times this week.
